Tuesday, July 10 @ 09:15:07 EDT by admin (8011 reads)
Brotherhood Love of the SahabaNarrated Al-Bara:
When the Prophet intended to perform 'Umra in the month of Dhul-Qada, the people of Mecca did not let him enter Mecca till he settled the matter with them by promising to stay in it for three days only. When the document of treaty was written, the following was mentioned: 'These are the terms on which Muhammad, Allah's Apostle agreed (to make peace).' They said, "We will not agree to this, for if we believed that you are Allah's Apostle we would not prevent you, but you are Muhammad bin Abdullah." ..

Brotherhood Love of the SahabaNarrated Anas:
It was said to the Prophet "Would that you see Abdullah bin Ubai." So, the Prophet went to him, riding a donkey, and the Muslims accompanied him, walking on salty barren land. When the Prophet reached 'Abdullah bin Ubai, the latter said, "Keep away from me! By Allah, the bad smell of your donkey has harmed me." On that an Ansari man said (to 'Abdullah), "By Allah! The smell of the donkey of Allah's Apostle is better than your smell" ..

Thursday, June 22 @ 05:10:33 EDT by ayman (5317 reads)
Brotherhood Love of the SahabaWhen Umar was buried, the group (recommended by Umar as candidates to hold the next successor) held a meeting. 'Abdur-Rahman (bin 'Auf) said, "Reduce the candidates for rulership to three of you." Az-Zubair said, "I give up my right to Ali." Talha said, "I give up my right to 'Uthman." Sad said, 'I give up my right to 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Auf." 'Abdur-Rahman then said (to 'Uthman and 'Ali), "Now which of you is willing to give up his right of candidacy so that he may choose the better of the (remaining) two, bearing in mind that Allah and Islam will be his witnesses?" ..

Friday, June 09 @ 16:01:51 EDT by ayman (6909 reads)
Brotherhood Love of the SahabaNarrated 'Amr bin Maimun:
I saw 'Umar bin Al-Khattab a few days before he was stabbed in Medina. He was standing with Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman and 'Uthman bin Hunaif to whom he said, "What have you done? Do you think that you have imposed more taxation on the land (of As-Swad i.e. 'Iraq) than it can bear?" They replied, "We have imposed on it what it can bear because of its great yield." 'Umar again said, "Check whether you have imposed on the land what it can not bear." They said, "No, (we haven't)." 'Umar added, "If Allah should keep me alive I will let the widows of Iraq need no men to support them after me." But only four days had elapsed when he was stabbed (to death) ..

Brotherhood Love of the SahabaNarrated 'Aisha:
(the wife of the Prophet) that she was told that Abdullah bin Az-Zubair (on hearing that she was selling or giving something as a gift) said, "By Allah, if 'Aisha does not give up this, I will declare her incompetent to dispose of her wealth." I said, "Did he (Abdullah bin Az-Zubair) say so?" They (people) said, "Yes." 'Aisha said, "I vow to Allah that I will never speak to Ibn Az-Zubair." When this desertion lasted long, Abdullah bin Az-Zubair sought intercession with her, but she said, "By Allah, I will not accept the intercession of anyone for him, and will not commit a sin by breaking my vow" ..

Brotherhood Love of the SahabaRabee'ah narrates:

It was the habit of the Prophet, peace be on him, that if someone did him a good turn, he loved to repay that person with something more excellent. He wanted to do something for me too in return for my service to him. So one day he came up tome and said: 'O Rabee'ah ibn Ka'b.' 'Labbayk ya rasulullah wa Sadaik - At your command, O Messenger of God and may God grant you happiness,' I responded. 'Ask of me anything and I will give it to you.' ..

Tuesday, September 27 @ 20:54:13 EDT by Ayman (4650 reads)
Brotherhood Love of the SahabaOnce Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) took permission to visit Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him). At that time a number of dignitaries among the Quraish were present there, and Said ibn al-Aas was sitting at Muawiyah's right hand. When Muawiyah saw that Ibn Abbas was coming in, he said to Said, 'O Said! By Allah, I will put such questions to Ibn Abbas that he will be unable to answer them'. Said said, 'Ibn Abbas will never fail to reply to your questions'..

Brotherhood Love of the SahabaAbu Nu'aym narrated that Aby Salih said: I have seen a large number of people gathered at the door of Abdullah ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) until the street was very crowded, and nobody was able to pass by. So I entered upon him (Abdullah ibn Abbas) and informed him of the people gathered on his door. So he told me to prepare what he needs to perform his ablution (wudhu). So he performed his ablution , sat down, and said: Go out and tell them 'Whoever wants to ask about the Quran and its letters come in'. He said: So I went out and made the announcement, so they entered the house until they filled the house and the room..

Ubaida bin Al-Jarrah: Helmet link pierces
Wednesday, June 22 @ 15:40:10 EDT by ayman (4445 reads)
Brotherhood Love of the SahabaThe fighting was at its most intense in the battle of Uhud. The sound of the clanging of swords was deafening, there was so much shouting and yelling that one?s hair stood up on end. Both armies were equally matched. And then the enemy began to retreat, and the Muslim forces chased them right up to their tents; the archers to leapt down from their positions. Khalid bin Waleed (may Allah be pleased with him) surrounded them and the rest of the enemies to turned back. At this stage in the battle field Abu ?Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was in the front ranks and surrounded, but realizing that the Prophet peace be upon him was in danger and breaking through the dangerous encircling enemy cordon, he reached him. The Prophet peace be upon him lying down bleeding from his injuries and cleaning up the blood from his wounds, he was saying sorrowfully..

Talhah ibn Ubaydilla: Sorrow for Uthman's Asassination
Sunday, January 30 @ 08:18:58 EST by Ayman (3029 reads)
Brotherhood Love of the SahabaThe murder of Uthman had become Talhah's tryst with destiny. He did not participate in the fighting and killing that followed that came to be known in history as the "Battle of the Camel". Indeed, if he had known that the fitnah would have degenerated into such insane hatred and bitterness and resulted in such a bloody outcome, he would have resisted it. He was not keen to fight Ali. He was simply appalled by the murder of Uthman and wanted to see justice done. Before the beginning of the battle he had said in a voice choked with emotion..
